With a vibrant and growing older adult community, many have rich life stories to share. Chaya Bluming, a creative writer dedicated to connecting with older adults, brings these stories to life through her memoir-writing process.
While earning her Social Work degree, Chaya interned at the Wechsler Center for Older Adults at the Marlene Meyerson JCC on the Upper West Side. During this time, she wrote a biography for an older adult, providing a space of compassionate curiosity and non-judgment that allowed her client to reflect on her past while embracing future possibilities. “Along with my passion for the older adult community, I bring deep insight and respect for the strength and resilience that got them to where they are today,” she reflects.
After several months of interviews, Chaya crafts a heartfelt gift—a lasting legacy for the older adult and future generations.
As one client shared, “Chaya was amazing, kind, and supportive during this process. She is very professional and helpful. I had a great experience.” The client’s granddaughter added, “Having a book about our grandmother’s life is a priceless treasure. Chaya’s warmth encouraged her to open up and share events and feelings we hadn’t heard before. Thank you for this project, which we will proudly share with future generations!”
Preserve the stories that define a life. Whether as a meaningful gift or a cherished personal keepsake, Chaya Bluming transforms memories into treasures that will be celebrated for generations. Contact Chaya to have your story written or give a meaningful gift to a loved one and generations to come.

She is kind calm and patient with the elderly what a great initiative!
I’ve known Chaya for years and she is a focused thoughtful listener who really absorbs what you are saying and makes you comfortable to share and explore. I would love for her to record my parents’ stories and I will contact her. Thank you for bringing this great idea to our attention!
