It is perhaps the biggest, sweetest and most expensive doughnut of this Chanukah season.
It took 3 employees and a lift truck for Klein’s Ice Cream House on Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn to transport what they call the largest ice cream doughnut in the world.
Made from 12.3 gallons of ice cream, it weighs 124 lbs. and is 33 inches round. It has 3 flavors – vanilla, chocolate and coffee. The price, if you ask, is $375.

In honor of Chanukah, Klein’s shares with COLlive readers a recipe that can have you fulfilling the custom of commemorating the miracle of the oil while enjoying ice cream.
“What better way to celebrate Chanukah and a fun new way to enjoy Klein’s, than with fried ice cream,” said Ari Klein.

To #2. Is this in the spirit of the Baal Shem Tov — to knock other Jews? What does it bother you if that’s how they are enjoying Chanukah? Could we call eating latkes and doughnuts – grubkeit? Just because you/we observe Chanukah one way doesn’t have to mean that we have to put down someone else’s way.
