In a momentous gathering at the Ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Yaakov Hagoel, Chairman of the World Zionist Organization and Representative of World Likud & the ZOA Coalition, officially launched his campaign for the upcoming World Zionist Congress (WZC) elections.
Hagoel was accompanied by ZOA’s Liz Berney, Esq., Elizabeth Axel, Cindy Grosz, and Ben Kogan, all candidates on ZOA Coalition Slate #15. They were joined by Rabbi Dubi Rabinowitz of JLI, who guided them through the experience.
“I came to the Ohel,” said Hagoel, “to tell the Rebbe what we’ve done until now regarding Shleimus Ha’aretz, and what we plan to do if we win this election. Over the years, the Rebbe cried about Shleimus Ha’aretz. It was so painful for the Rebbe. He deeply cared about the security of the Jews in Israel.”
Hagoel urged all Jews to vote in these pivotal elections. After October 7, the stakes could not be higher.
“We cannot afford to sit this out,” Hagoel emphasized. “The Rebbe was clear—no concessions to terrorists. We cannot allow power and resources to fall into the hands of those who support the ‘two-state solution’ or woke agendas that weaken Israel. This election determines where over $1 billion per year is allocated—it must go towards strengthening Israel, not weakening it.”
What’s at stake?
The World Zionist Congress is the only democratically elected Jewish body in the world. It determines the leadership and funding priorities of the key institutions that impact Jewish life in Eretz Yisroel and across the globe. With a $5 billion budget over the next five years, this election will decide the future of Judea and Samaria, the Jordan Valley, and Yerushalayim. It will influence the fight against antisemitism and anti-Israel agendas worldwide, as well as the security and prosperity of Jewish communities both in Israel and throughout the Diaspora.
“That’s why we need every Lubavitcher to stand up and vote for Slate 15 – The ZOA Coalition,” says Hagoel. “We are your voice in this election. ZOA stands for Shleimus Ha’aretz—keeping Eretz Yisroel whole and undivided. We are fighting to defend Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria, the Negev, and the Galilee and to combat antisemitism on legal, diplomatic, and public fronts. If we don’t vote, the power and funding could shift to those who weaken Israel instead of strengthening it. We cannot allow that to happen.”
Lubavitcher women at the forefront of the campaign
This historic campaign is being led by two dedicated Lubavitcher women, Bracha Torenheim and Basya Benshushan, who emphasized the mission at hand: “The ZOA Coalition (Slate 15) is the only slate that unites over 34 organizations that have been working together for nearly 130 years to combat antisemitism, support Jewish communities, and strengthen Jewish identity. The ZOA Coalition is the oldest, most experienced, and most powerful movement in America—one that unites all Jews, Sephardic and Ashkenazi, Orthodox and secular, young and old—Jews who care about keeping Eretz Yisroel whole and strong.”
During the visit to the Ohel, Torenheim presented Hagoel and his delegation with the book “MAKE PEACE – The Integrity of the Land of Israel in Light of the Teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.”
Act Now! Vote ZOA – Slate 15
Hagoel and the ZOA Coalition candidates issued a passionate call to action: Vote for Slate 15 – The ZOA Coalition, the slate with the strongest ties to the U.S. government and World Likud, the ruling party in Israel.

are we meant to vote for slate 15 or eretz hakodesh party? or is it the same thing?
Eretz Hakodesh has chabad delegates who have been working hard on the issues that matter to us for the past five years. Will anyone but are own fight for Mihu Yehudi, Shleimos Ha’aretz, Shmiras Shabbos, etc? It takes time, experience, and proper representation, while others make promises they can’t fulfill.

Follow the rabbonim
Of something like this on the times of the rebbe rashab when the relations were tense with the zionists
The Rebbe fought strongly against Zionism. The Rebbe was greatly pained by the thought that Zionism represents the Jewish people in any way shape or form. The Rebbe absolutely rejected the notion that the Zionist movement is a “Jewish body.” If the WZA is indeed the “oldest, most powerful Jewish movement that unites all Jews” – how come the Rebbe never supported it through all the years that he spoke about mihu yehudi and shleimus haaretz!? How come only now, thirty years after gimmel tammuz, this movement became “the Rebbe’s movement” ch”v that is being launched from *the Ohel*!? Who… Read more »
Chabad doesn’t join zionist organizations. A Chabad Chosid living outside Eretz Yisroel has no business voting in these elections
Clearly you don’t understand this process. The opinion of Yidden outside of Eretz Yisroel is exactly what they want. Don’t vote if you want the Reform to have a major say in what happens in Eretz Yisroel like at the Kotel, and continue to receive all the funding for their education system.
You also have to listen to the Rabbonim and they said not to so…
Perhaps collive should be a little more circumspect in directly encouraging lubavitchers to vote. A similar site, made this suggestion but then amended their statement after consulting rabbonim.

… there is a letter from the Rebbe specifically instructing not to vote in these elections, and it’s not from that long ago. That doesn’t mean that it’s not good to see them becoming more religious, coming to the Ohel, etc, but this isn’t something for Lubavitchers to participate in.
What’s with shleimus hatorah and shleimus ha’am?
Obviously these organizations are doing great work but for us the Rebbe wrote against joining the WZO
It’s wonderful to see that Yaakov Hagoel came to pray at the Ohel—it’s a great sign of respect for Chabad.
Over the years, leaders of the State of Israel have sought the Rebbe’s guidance, and the Rebbe was deeply involved in everything concerning Israel. The Rebbe fought tirelessly for Shleimus Ha’aretz, and it’s inspiring to see that ZOA COALITION SLATE 15 carries this commitment forward.
Wishing you much success!
Chabad has always been involved indirectly in shleumus haaretz and funding Jewish institutions in Israel, it’s important to vote for Frum groups so we can get a big portion of the funding that becomes available. Eretz hakodesh organization has a group of lubavitchers on their team, they even produced a cute film to go along with it. Look them up. And get involved.

The zoa gets taxes from property in israel, and the purpose is that jews who live outside of israel should have a voice. So I’m sure you hear of the woman of the wall, these our jews outside of isreal trying to push there injenda. There is about 8 billion dollars up for grabs. So the way it works there our seat and whoever is the most decideds where the money goes. So if we sit by for whatever reason then the reform will decided what should happen in isreal regardin our religious standers. Just a thought.
Please don’t confuse the true, really true frum, completely frum party with the Zionists. Although it’s nice PR it doesn’t befit our standards. So although it’s a nice photo op, it gives credibility to their Zionistic outlook. They are better off doing this without the fanfare because people can read it wrong.
I would not advocate chabad voting at all, BUT, if you do, it should be the most frum slate, closest to your principles
The group that came to the Ohel does not constitute any endorsement of chabad
