With the generous sponsorship of David Schottenstein and the profound wisdom of Rabbi YY Jacobson, the two are teaming up to help young Chassanim and newly married men in their new stage of life.
Whether you’re dating, engaged, or married, this innovative and novel workshop hopes to endow these young men with perspective and both emotional and practical tools on how to turn their marriages into success stories.
“We want to help them create successful, beautiful, blossoming, meaningful and holy marriages,” says Rabbi Jacobson.
“A huge number of couples are struggling, many of them seriously. So many young people don’t have thriving marriages. A harmonious marital life is the foundation for a happy life and children’s well-being. And plenty of young guys are simply clueless,” says Schottenstein, who initiated the idea after being sought out on occasions for his own advice. Who better than Rabbi YY Jacobson to deliver wisdom in a relatable and profound way, and in a manner in which people can actually enjoy the learning, Schottenstein thought.
The Seminar, in addition to Rabbi YY’s Torah Manual on marriage and a question and answer session, will include a professional marriage therapist Dr. Moshe Zeev (Martin) Lamm, who will share his experience of what makes or breaks a marriage, what are the essential tools for a happy marriage; what are the pitfalls to look out for; and how every couple can deal with any challenge that comes their way early on in the marriage before the ‘infections’ become entrenched.
The course is in no way intended to replace traditional chosson classes. Rather, its goal is to educate young men of marriageable age about healthy and happy relationships with their wives, based on the teachings of Torah and Chassidus. For good reason, many young husbands are not aware of the many details making for a beautiful and trusting marriage and this can end up causing unnecessary pain and struggle.
The day-long workshop will take place next Sunday, 19 Cheshvan, 5780, November 17, 2019, at a beautiful pavilion, 11 Forshay Road, Monsey, NY. Transportation will be provided from Crown Heights in addition to a lavish lunch and dinner at the location. Going away for a day to a suburbia atmosphere, will help the students tune-in to learning and sharing, and feel nurtured.
This first seminar will be targeted particularly to Chabad raised young men either dating, engaged or newly married (within first few years of marriage), and with its anticipated success, beizer Hashem, will open up to other groups, and eventually to young women and Kallahs.
“The Divine presence dwells in a home where there is a respectful and loving marriage,” says Rabbi YY. “Every husband and wife deserve to have the Shechinah in their home, giving their lives joy, meaning and serenity,” Rabbi Jacobson says.
David Schottenstein proudly sponsors this revolutionary workshop in honor of his wife, his Akeres Habayis, Eda.
Transportation will be leaving Crown Heights at 11:45 AM sharp and will be returning 7:45pm.
