Do you ever discuss the necessity of (even long-time) members of the schechuna greeting one another with a ponim yafos, a good morning, or a Good Shabbos whether or not they know you? Is this part of Chassidus too?

    A resident for several decades!!!!

I agree with you, and do try to say hello, Good Shabbos, to whomever I see, and constantly get asked by people I am walking with, who was that?, do you know them?
A suggestion for you: Greet everyone YOU see with a smile, a Good Shabbos, a hello. It usually gets reciprocated — and many people will be smiling back at you, and greeting with good Shabbos, etc. Try it, it’s catchy!

    Such a special group!

And so positive. In every community there are those soooo alone and just not knowing how to connect or maybe going through something. It’s devastating to be on the outside. Congratulations for this initiative. May it grow and succeed to the utmost !!!👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋

However, since it’s an inherent part of my nature TO greet anyone, regardless of color and creed with a friendly face, perhaps you can offer your wonderful suggestion to those who don’t value this simple gesture!
