This is Great news and an essential service for women in frum communities who have needed this. Long overdue and much welcomed. Hatzlacha!

We need this in CH. So many women need emergency services when giving birth.
Wishing them much success.

After personally having hatzala being at my birth, I have no problem having a man there. The main thing is who can be there first and do what has to get done.

so happy to hear

The frum community is being affected by what’s going on in the world, this whole organization is built on feminism and goyeshe standards, stop looking at the Goyim and let’s follow in the ways the Rebbe taught us

Feminity and modesty NOT feminism!

When you are a woman at your most vulnerable moment, no you do not want men around you or touching you. This has nothing to do with feminism, it has everything to do with feminity and modesty. Please don’t undermine the efforts that are being put to service the need of frum women.

I have a very simple question, why is such a holy org. as hatzolah with erlicha yingaliet, fighting tooth and nail, that they should be the ones touching women and delivering their babies when women give birth ?
shouldn’t the frum men support that women deliver babies from women, we always hear rabbonim support segregation like the willy buses, women sit in the back, why is delivering babies different then sitting next to women on the bus ?

Unreal

what…you don’t use male doctors? only female? seriously! as you said hatzalah is ehrliche yungaliet what is your problem with them? they are stronger, more available and have been doing this for so long they have perfected what they do. why do we need to be like the goyim and have newbie feminists??

Um, yes, I do only use female doctors, as a matter of fact. And many other women do as well.

Thank Hashem that you never needed to weigh the question of whether or not your situation was an emergency enough to outweigh the embarrassment of exposing yourself to a group of members of the opposite gender. I did.

Those minutes of hesitation make Hatzolah’s incredible response time not as useful…

Your thinking is very flawed

You should ask yourself why you would prefer that women, in a situation requiring the most dignity and peace of mind, be in a situation of hepech hatznius because there’s no choice. B”H it is not for you to decide and some special women have come through with an urgently needed service. Throughout history women have been assisted by women in these situations and B”H modern technology is now available for women to use as well and effectively to help other women. If you don’t want to use them you need not call them.

Greatly needed and long overdue! Why does a woman need a bunch of men (mortgage brokers & realtors, no less) to show up at her door when she’s in labor or for any other medical need. It’s high time the community realizes that there are frum professional women who work outside the home as Doctors, Nurses, Lawyers, Judges and More. Welcome to America!!! Women can be frum and still have dignity, bank accounts, vote, and be treated like a human being. If you don’t like it that Frum women can be treated like equal human beings here, then I suggest… Read more »

Now you're turning this into a feminist act

don’t start with that. As mentioned in previous comments, this is just to help women for modesty and comfort reasons. Don’t bring in feminism because this is NOT what it is about. You seem overly upset that women don’t have rights in our community. As a woman in the ch community myself, I beg to differ. We are treated VERY well in the ch community, better than in a lot of other Jewish communities (notice how by EVERY mens kinnus, the first mention of thanks is to the wives, and all men stand up and clap) Building the regular Hatzalah… Read more »

There is essentially nothing wrong with anyone in healthcare, being make or female. Regardless either gender can and does save lives. The Danger and Fault of establishing a seperate female EMT service is that it’s one and only purpose and function is exclusively to only service Females only. This is extremely dangerouse and may Chas Vesholom cost lives. Because the purpose of an EMT is only for emergency potential life threatening situations, where it is a potential Pikuach Nefesh which is why it’s permissible to call Hatzalah on Shabbos. If a situation is a Sofek Pikuach Nefesh, and a women… Read more »

I am fine with hatzalah. they are tried and true. i don’t need this new wave feminists. it will take them a long long time before they are even close to regular hatzalah.

Well the decision was not up to you

B”H for that. Try to imagine yourself in the patient’s position at such a time. That’s all it takes to know how very, very crucial this was and how very thankful we all are that it’s available.

Nobody is forcing anyone to call Ezras Nashim.

But as someone who waited precious minutes to make sure an emergency was big enough to deal with the stress of having males deal with a sensitive female situation, even if EN had a response time three times as long as Hatzolah, I still would have gotten care faster. I doubt I am the only one.

And since another commenter suggested calling 911, EN will certainly be faster than that.

Ludicrous

If women in Frum communities don’t like male Hatzolah Members taking them to the hospital when they are in Labor, they can always call an FDNY Ambulance which almost always has a female EMT with a male. This is nonsense it’s not productive and it seems to me like there is a pinch of Entitlement with this whole thing as if they don’t recognize what Hatzolah has done for over 40 years and want to just prove a point which may cost someone their life.

This puts a bad taste in people’s mouth and is not productive sorry not sorry!!!

I don’t understand why they can’t have some women on standby in hatzala to help with certain cases. Making a whole nother organization is it going to over complicate things

they only had to make a separate organization because hatzalah didn’t let them join theirs.

That's correct
