Crown Heights is blessed with organizations of every type, catering to every stripe. So when a new group formed last January, it wasn’t immediately clear that there was a need for the classes and camaraderie the Beis Medrash Women’s Circle offered.
But when their first melava malka gathered a crowd of over 75 enthusiastic women last January, it was apparent that the Women’s Circle was filling a void in our large community.
In the year since its inception, the WC has attracted hundreds of Crown Heights women to its 43 Caffeine for the Soul classes and nine special evening events.
The weekly shiurim, based on sichos of the Rebbe relating to the upcoming parsha or holiday, are springboards for lively discussions and debates. Each Wednesday at 9:30, more than a dozen women (usually accompanied by their children) gather for coffee, home-baked goodies, and inspiration.
Pesach and Shavuos were preceded by roundtable discussions and Sukkos was enjoyed al fresco with warm soup in the sukkah. During the summer, many women gathered for a concert by Chana’le Fellig and several evenings devoted to the laws of taharas hamishpacha.
It has been a busy, and satisfying, year and to celebrate its success, the Women’s Circle is hosting its first anniversary melava malka dinner.
This Motzei Shabbos, noted kallah teacher Mrs. Brocha Chein will address the topic of p’ru u’rvu and singer and composer Sara Hecht will entertain the crowd. A delicious milchig buffet and dessert reception will be served.

I was by their Wednesday caffeine classes on the topic and was very impressed by how they showed a whole picture; halachah, medrash and what the Rebbe said. So excited, hey there’ll also be great food!!
such a great topic pru urevu, cant wait for this event, its gotta be awesome like all the other events of tbmwc..
so inspiring how all those ch stores sponsored for this event, really touching!
This is a good sign for the young crown hights crowd; all these sponsors are our own home-grown local stores, and they’re all involved in something so great!!
With all the programs going on for women in C.H., TBM manages to offer something truly unique- I’ve seen it at all their events and know Motzei Shabbos will not disappoint!
