Women in Crown Heights gathered together for an evening of inspiration and entertainment, hosted by Mikvah.org/The Taharas Hamishpacha Org.
Enjoying a wonderful “night out”, featuring beautifully set tables and tempting desserts, they were treated to a wonderful lecture by Mrs. Bassie Deitsch, of New Haven CT on finding the meaning in the very basics of Torah observance. How do we take the spiritual high of Tishrei and other spiritually elevated times and apply it to the rest of the year and the rest of our daily lives?
This enlightening talk was followed by musical entertainment featuring Mrs. Laura Melnicoff on the cello and Mrs. Miriam Sher on the drums with Mrs. Golda Malka Orenstein lending her beautiful voice to the musical accompaniment of soulful niggunim.
Mrs. Vivi Deren, renowned educator and co-director with her husband, Rabbi Yisroel Deren, of Chabad of Stamford, CT enthralled us with her talk on how we can fulfill our purpose of making this world a welcome place for the Aibishter by our simple day to day activities, by viewing a mitzvah or an act of kindness as a wonderful opportunity and the true way to happiness in today’s narcissistic world.
The talks were followed by the drawing of the raffles, names and prizes were announced and celebrated.

The evening drew to a close, as women connected with one another, soft cello music playing in the background as they enjoyed the array of lovely desserts, pastries and fruits elegantly displayed. Everyone left with a lovely memento of the evening and that lovely feeling that comes from the enjoyment of spiritual and physical renewal.
“What a wonderful evening!” said Mrs. Levy, “Thank you Mikvah.org for another fabulous event! Looking forward to the next one!”
