A Lubavitch man is asking the public’s help in tracking down a woman who stole his Tefillin from the yard outside 770 on Tuesday.
The victim reported that he put his Tefillin down briefly in the courtyard of 770, turned away for a moment, and when he looked back, they were gone.
Seeing a black female who regularly hangs out near 770, he asked bystanders if they saw her take the Tefillin, but the bystanders said she is there often and probably did not take them.
The victim then obtained footage from the surveillance cameras, where the woman can be seen rummaging through his tefillin bag and possibly taking them.
The victim filed a police report for grand larceny and the NYPD detectives will be conducting an investigation into the theft.
The victim told COLlive.com he will be traveling out of the country in the next few days, and is asking for anyone who has seen this woman or a pair of Tefillin to please call Shomrim at (718) 774-3333 or 347-276-7266.
Video looks like she’s rummaging through tfilin bag for something of value to her..thinking it’s a purse of some sort probably. She may have taken it not even knowing it had value ..z

Many workers in 770 women section were recommended by the workers from downstairs to work by the women. They worked short times just for holidays. They thought they would be permanent workers and one of them could have done it. They hire many extra workers just for tishrei. I know this from ms lang and other workers from women section.
If you watch the vudeo, you can clearly see that she has taken the tefillin and is trying to hide them amongst her bags evem checking near the end that no one is watching her. She does not look like she was just cleaning up

My son who had just arrived into Brooklyn and put down his Tefillin in 770 on Thursday October 20 also had his Tefillin /bag taken away. The initials are…. ש.ד.ף
How many times have we to be warned not too leave your valuable tofilin unattended even for one second sorry to sound harsh but it should teach us to be vigilant yes and help get back the tofiln
