The idea of leaving her three children, aged 29- 31, without a living parent, brings Nili fear. Her husband passed from kidney disease 12 years ago and now Nili is facing that very same disease herself.
The three Chabad Houses that Nili is affiliated with feel blessed to have her involved. She lovingly volunteered to cook communal meals for 150, as her passion is one of service.
One Shliach, Rabbi Shmuel Sholom Serebryanski, tells COLlive: “Nili has been very instrumental in everything in our Chabad House from its very inception. She’s always been there for us; now it’s time for us to be there for her.”
Hospitals only allow those deemed fit for living a life of full quality and longevity on a single kidney, as qualified to donate. Thus, extensive testing and evaluation are done for all prospective donors.
If you’d consider donating to Nili, please reach out to Rabbi Boruch Wolf @ Kidney Assist at 516.360.0299 or by emailing [email protected]
Post script: This article was written by the initiation of Rabbi Avraham Lider ob”m some weeks ago. It hadn’t reached publication before his tragic passing, but his legendary passion to help people in so many ways including kidney transplants, leave so many from within his constituency lacking his loving critical aid and warmth. He is truly missed by so many.
