NEW CHILDREN’S SEFER TORAH
In honor of Levi Yitzchak, ob”m, a new Sefer Torah be written, beginning this Sunday. This is dedicated by all the children of Shluchim worldwide and any child who wishes to participate. The first letters will be inscribed at the Wolowik’s home, 748 Central Avenue in Woodmere, this Sunday, March 8, beginning at 4:00 PM.
The Wolowiks have asked the Shluchim family worldwide to join them in a special Sefer Torah Campaign on behalf of the Yaldei Hashluchim v’Anash – driven by the efforts of the children themselves.
The Sefer Torah will be sponsored by the children themselves in one of two ways: (1) The children will be able to buy letters in the Sefer Torah, each child according to the amount he or she can donate; (2) in conjunction with the writing of the Sefer Torah, MyShliach will coordinate an international “Learn-a-thon” for the children – so that their actual learning will fund the Sefer Torah.
As a proud member of the Rebbe’s corps of young Shluchim, Levi Yitzchak A”H was devoted to his Torah learning – and in particular, he worked hard to learn Chapters 1, 32 and 41 of Tanya by heart. As it is to all of our children, the Tanya that Levi Yitzchak learned “ba’al peh” was very precious to him.
In honor of Levi’s devotion, the children’s efforts in the Learn-a-thon – Mishnayos, Tanya, etc., by heart – will fund the Sefer Torah. With the help of an adult sponsor, the children will purchase letters with money earned for each line memorized; as a “bonus,” they will receive Hachayil mission points.
