Don’t let them freeze! They’ve been left without heating and need your help to survive.
The thousands of Ukrainian Jews who were left behind, following the Russian invasion almost 11 months ago, are now in a race against time to get generators for heating, before the bitter cold puts their lives at risk.
Rabbi Avraham Wolff, rabbi of the city of Odessa, pleads for help and says: “We were left without basic food, without heating and in frigid temperatures of -5 degrees Celsius. You cannot imagine the terrible situation we are in, here in Odessa. I stayed with the thousands of needy Jewish families, and I fear that our lives are in danger, God forbid!
“The communication lines have been cut off. We are on the brink of a catastrophe that could cost lives – the elderly and the sick have difficulty calling for help. If we wait, it will cost lives!
“We must desperately purchase basic food products, generators, alternative energy equipment, medical equipment and satellite communication equipment to save lives.”
Rabbi Wolff continues and says in angst, “These are huge costs of hundreds of thousands of dollars and without it we are in life-threatening danger!
“Please, open your hearts and help us survive these terrible times in the hopes that the war will end as soon as possible, with no further harm to human life!”
