The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for New York City on Thursday night through Friday morning.
Snow is expected to begin around 10 pm, until 1:00 PM Friday.
A total of 1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet and up to one-tenth of an inch of ice is expected with locally higher amounts possible.
NYC Emergency Management has issued a travel advisory for Thursday night, February 24 and continuing through Friday, February 25, in expectation of the wintry weather.
New Yorkers are advised to exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking, and allow for additional travel time as roads may be slippery and visibilities may be low. Use mass transit if possible.
With snow and ice expected, help prevent street flooding by clearing snow and debris from catch basins near your home. If you’re cleaning catch basin grates, be sure to wear gloves & watch out for traffic. You can also report a clogged catch basin by calling 311 or submitting online at https://portal.311.nyc.gov/article/?kanumber=KA-01084.
Alternate Side Parking rules are suspended through February 25 to facilitate winter weather operations.
