Rabbi Yoel Schwartz, a rav and author who lives in Williamsburg, traveled to Crown Heights on Wednesday to deliver a shiur l’iyun on Hilchos Niddah being studied in the Kolel L’horaah Ma’asis this year.
Rabbi Schwartz is the author of “Bishvilei Halacha – Shvilei Tahara,” a two volume work that delves into the intricacies underlying the laws of Niddah. He has also penned a similar work on parts of Hilchos Shabbos as well. In addition, he has recently been appointed a dayan and moreh hora’ah in the newly opened Kehal Yetev Lev of Satmar in the recently built ‘Cascade’ development near Williamsburg.
In his shiur, Rabbi Schwartz focused on the halachos currently being studied in the kolel, shedding light on the subject of vestos with an emphasis on the novelties in the shitah of the Alter Rebbe. He prefaced his remarks by noting his hope that the differences in ‘havara’ between communities should not pose a barrier, especially where sharing divrei Torah is concerned, and the kolel members had no difficulty following and engaging with the shiur which was well received.
The Kolel, which is located in the Beis Gimpel Shul, 309 New York Avenue in Crown Heights, is led by Rosh Kolel Rabbi Sholom Ber Shuchat, Sgan Rosh Kolel Rabbi Shraga Homnick and was founded by Rabbi Shloime Greenwald.
Can an audio/video of the shiur be posted?
