I hope he looses.

I hope he looses the election. this crisis brought out how inept and incompetent he is.

We have members of our community now dead partly because he fumbled the response.

Obviously hashem is the one that gives life… But we are required to do our part. He didn’t do his part.

The CDC a department in the federal government that designed the current diagnostic test, failed. After it came out that the test was faulty. It took them a month to fix it.
If testing was more available we would have found out how wide spread it was much sooner, thus sheltering in place earlier before Purim which would have avoided an unimaginable amount of cases.

Wrong.

The limited testing kits were a policy handed down from the Obama administration

What?

Earlier precautions would have meant saved lives like Eretz Hakodesh

Trump shut down the pandemic relief office in 2018 “in an effort to streamline” that was in place since the previous administration. He then continued to deny it was a problem for a month. This could have been played out very differently.

but there are a lot of people who are dedicated to trump and will excuse any and all of his failures.

Whoever blaming Trump is going down the same path as Coumo the apikores that God is not making us better we are.
Imagine if Trump closed NYC, the protest would’ve killed everybody, thank God he played it out in a reassuring way

Now we are finding out dr Fauci an Obama holdover, funded the lab.
CDC is still controlled by the previous admissions.
If Trump mixed the ingredients to bring Moshiach (cleaning up corruption)
Why are we crying a change in status quo just like the Yidden who didn’t want to leave Mitzrayim.

It matters

Even if we are Yidden and believe in Hashem.
Moshe spoke to Hashem but still went to Paroh.
Yiddishkeit does not exclude reality. It includes it.
So please, although our faith is in Gd alone, it is relevant who the president of our country is. All stories in Tanach deal with the rulers of the countries, above velt, but in velt.
Running away from reality in the name of Torah isn’t correct.

Dr. Fauci has nothing to do with the CDC; he is part of NIH. Trump did clean up, he shut down the pandemic office, and this is what we got.

False indeed

He didn’t “shut down the pandemic office,” he consolidated several overlapping offices into one, while retaining most of the staff.

Time to call a spade a spade
April 20, 2020 12:29 pm

We learned of Covid-19 on the same day that South Korea and Taiwan did. They mobilized with testing and distancing in February while here Trump denied and gave false hope. Now it’s contained there.

Trump ended the Global Pandemics Office, started by Bush and continued by Obama, in 2018.

Covid-19 is nikmas dam for electing a con. We can keep his tax-cuts but he took anash, including pillars like Groner, Friedman and Levy.

Wherever the commenters are getting the talking point about Trump shutting down the pandemics office, it’s false. There were several overlapping teams that were consolidated into one, keeping most of the staff. In no way did that have anything to do with the response. More to the point, Trump shut down travel from China while the Democrats were screaming about that being racist and xenophobic and whatever. That’s saved a lot of lives in most places (where they have sensible governors and mayors, not in NYC where they’ve made things even worse by reducing subway service, such that more people… Read more »

it is his fault
April 20, 2020 2:06 pm

of course some people would have died under any president but trump was told this would happen again and again all through February but did absolutely nothing. Imagine how many people in our community would still be alive if he had acted literally 1 week earlier. Biden is not perfect, but he is at minimum, somewhat competent – which has is a quality that will make the difference between life and death.

It is not easy to put in place a lockdown it is unconstitutional and he put a step earlier than the other politicians while bill de blasio was encouraging going to go out after trump put he hand down

Sure, Biden is competent – at he and his family taking a billion+ dollars from China. At actually doing something useful for the United States, not so much.

Chareidim
April 20, 2020 4:19 pm

Perhaps Trump could’ve woken up earlier and would have saved many lives, however I would not blame him for all the brooklyn chareidim’s deaths. especially in boro park, even after trump finally woke up, they disobeyed the laws of social distancing, every levaya brought more levaya’s.

Yes.... But
April 20, 2020 6:38 pm

It’s very clear – he’s not a politician… We need someone to shake things up… He’s good for frumme yiden… he’s good for Israel….
That’s all good. But we also need competence and at least the outward appearance that thay care for the ppl they serve.
this crisis brings out very clearly: he’s not competent, and he cares only about himself.

There is one thing trump did worng is the testing but how is supposed to know the the testing will fail? To lockdown the country is not constitutional! and trump built the economy till the corona virus why will he want to ruin it? but when doctor fauci told him to close the economy he did it! He locked down china and Europe to stop the spread! China lied. how was trump supposed to know that it is more more serious than it is? The idea of the lockdown is not to save the vulnerable! It is to stop the… Read more »

Surprised
April 20, 2020 11:32 pm

After hearing Jews worshipping Trump like he is Moshiach or something, I find the comments here refreshing! He is indeed incompetent, not made for politics, and I definitely blame him for not taking this pandemic seriously yet complimenting himself for all the “great work” he supposedly did, I blame him for not encouraging a lockdown and just think about thw economy while people are sick and dying.
I mean, even people who love him HAVE to admit this time he screwed up..

…that after Obama, where there were groups of schoolchildren singing his praises, where there were national news magazines putting up pictures of him in halos, etc., that you would think anybody “worships” Trump. We think he’s the best man for the job right now, that’s all, and that so far he’s done a lot of good for the country and for us Jews in particular. Could his response to the Chinese virus have been better? Sure, but he’s a human being, not a navi, and what seems in retrospect like a lifesaving measure (for example, his ban on travel from… Read more »

Everyone messed up on this
April 21, 2020 12:25 am

For everyone who is saying Trump bungled his response, please look at people’s response to his shut down of travel and find me a politician who was advocating for a shutdown before Trump. Trump is not a medical professional. He relies on other people for medical opinions please look at what the people around him were saying at the time. Yes he made costly mistakes find me someone who wouldn’t have made the same mistakes. Remember to look at both sides of the coin. And everything he has done for the past two years has been condemned in a manner… Read more »

IT IS SQUARELY ON THOSE WHO IN THEIR BLINKERED FALSE RGHTEOUSNESS CONTINUED TO ORGANISE AND ATTEND MINYONIM AGAINST THE DIRECTIVES OF THE DOCTORS RABBONIM BEIS DIN. Imagine locking down NYC, all the protesters proving s point hugging each other while dancing with people from Wuhan.
Trump is my hero for following good advice sometimes at his own calculation.
Let’s boil it down to the haymeshe neighborhoods, did they listen to any leaders from within, why Trump or others?
We have a rebellious problem am ‘keshai orev hoo’
