From the COLlive inbox:
Shmuli headed up the steps to his home after a long day at work, and reaches into the mailbox to bring the mail into the house. Bill, bill, credit card offer, advertisement, grocery flyer. And the check didn’t come.
He walks into his home, which has a “Friday” feeling, and smells the delicious aroma as his kids run towards him for a hug. As the rest of the lonely envelopes are left in his hand waiting for attention, his children run off with one shrink wrapped item.
A Chassidisher Derher.
With a grateful heart that this is the discipline he needs to engage in, he calls out, “I think we will wait to open it for Shabbos.”
For the past few years, this is a monthly occurrence in countless Lubavitch homes. Each month, the team at the Derher produce a full color, beautifully designed, English magazine, brimming with rich Chassidishe content.
Chassidishe stories, guidance from the Rebbe, and feature articles about relevant topics in Chabad are some examples of what each issue contain. Background and information on Yomei Dipagra, Darkei Hachassidus, and many unseen pictures of the Rebbe also can be found in the magazine.
“Thank you for presenting a beautiful and informative magazine brimming with pictures, personal anecdotes, and very important historical data from behind the scenes that I never knew. In fact, I have learned so much from each issue,” writes Rabbi Moshe Traxler of Houston, Texas, in an email to the Derher.
“The most important aspect of the Chasidisher Derher, for me, is the pnimius’dike hiskashrus that flows from the staff through the articles to their readers. It represents a lebediker connection. Even after Gimmel Tammuz, the hiskashrus grows, especially amongst our young, English speaking bochurim.”
And now, the Derher is on a mission to reach even more homes. Through the generosity of several key donors, they are launching their biggest sale to date.
From now through Monday, all subscriptions are 20% off, making the monthly price less than $5 a month.
“We feel it most fitting that we are offering this promotion right before Rosh Hashana,” said Rabbi Yossi Kamman, who directs A Chassidisher Derher. “As we prepare for the new year, what better way then to bring the Rebbe into your home through such a beautiful and easy to read publication.”
New subscribers during the promotion will receive the Tishrei magazine as part of their subscription.
