The original founder of the Lubavitch cheder in Paris, from which all these mosdos spread, was Reb Zalman Serebryanski. He started the cheder and sent people out in pairs to raise both students and money. When he left for Australia in 1949, he handed it over to Reb Hillel Azimov.
