Each year, a Jewish doctor in France organizes a fundraiser for the Jewish Community of Chernigov in Ukraine, led by Shliach Rabbi Yisroel Silberstein.
The doctor gathers friends and community members in honor of the 9th of Kislev, yartzeit of Rabbi Dovber Schneuri OBM, the second Chabad-Lubavitch Rebbe known as the Mitteler Rebbe.
Rabbi Silberstein, who is an hour and a half drive from the Mitteler Rebbe’s Ohel in the city of Nezhin, says the doctor collects funds to celebrate a miracle that occurred to him.
The doctor called Rabbi Silberstein a while back to report that his mother is battling cancer. “I took a minyan of Jews and we traveled to Nezhin and said the entire Tehillim there,” the Shliach recalled.
“Immediately after we returned, I was certain that our prayers were accepted,” he told Kfar Chabad magazine. “I call the doctor and asked him to have his mother checked again. He got back to me shortly after that the doctors don’t see a trace to the illness. She is alive and well until this day.”
Rabbi Silberstein said these are one of the many miracle stories he has witnessed in connection to the holy gravesite in Nezhin as a group of chassidim gathered there this past Shabbos to mark the yartzeit.
Coordinating the hospitality this past Shabbos was Rabbi Shneur Zalman Deitsch who does the same at the Alter Rebbe’s Ohel in Haditch. A special tent was built there to host the visitors and farbrengens.
Yay Sruly! Keep up the good work
