This is probably the longest letter the Rebbe wrote to an individual person. Penned in 1965 to Holocaust survivor Eli Wiesel, the Rebbe addresses the most difficult question of all. Why so much suffering?
Some years ago, on Gimmel Tamuz, Rabbi YY Jacobson delivered a shuir in this incredible letter of the Rebbe to congregants of Bais Shmuel. In this letter, the Rebbe delves deeply into some of the deepest questions of Jewish philosophy and history, and explains the culture of the Nazis who can both write poetry and gas children to death.
The Rebbe goes on to persuade the late Dr. Wiesel to marry and build a family, so that he does not give a posthumous victory to Hitler.
Listen now to a class in this letter by Rabbi YY Jacobson.
