Some Airlines do allow a company account to get set up, and then the points can go to that account. Some Airlines make it only be able to go into the passengers personal mileage account. However if a company sends an employee on a trip every month lets say, after 4 or 5 trips he will have enough points for a trip, so the company can tell him to use his points to pay for the next trip he is taking for the company. Miles can go to a company account, the purchaser is the company, and they give the company FFN (frequent flyer number) when they make travel arrangements. (These are companies that have their own internal travel agencies, serving the needs of the company personnel.)

However, I know at least one person who made frequent flyer miles an issue while negotiating his pay and benefits package during the hiring process. He was able to keep his miles, while most of his colleagues had to use the company FFN.

Not true… mileage belongs to person who flew… its not transferable. That’s the rules of the airline.
I get the question of the shier… but not sure how it would practically apply… the Rabbi asks if the mileage perhaps belongs to the company… according to airline rules this is not allowed.
