in general it is a goyish thing to do but when the rebbe asked for it we dont have to understand.

the Rebbe himself explained the “inyan” of him motioning to whistle – see farbrengen of purim 5736.
Indeed, this was not such a clear cut inyan. The Rebbe however, was able to transform the whistle!
Were my parents and yeshiva rebbes wrong???
