In a well documented episode, the Rebbe was sitting in his office during a chuppah, which typically took place right outside the Rebbe’s window.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Rebbe noticed that there was no live music being played.
The Rebbe pointed this out to Rabbi Groner, and inquired as to why that was the case.
Rabbi Groner replied that the 2 families were of little financial means, and live music simply was not an option for them.
The Rebbe could not accept this, and immediately informed Rabbi Groner to arrange live music, and not to disclose where it came from.
Today, Keren Simchas Chosson V’Kallah spends over $2 million annually, ensuring that brides and grooms, regardless of their financial means, can have their special day be everything they dreamed it would be.
The Rebbe saw that what was being established under that Chuppah was more than just a union. Indeed, it was a foundation for the future of the Jewish family.
This Motzei Shabbos, KSCVK once again turns to the Crown Heights community, to ask for your partnership.
