Businessman Dudi Farkash, a financial services consultant who has many clients in many different Jewish communities, was seen Sunday taking part in a Shas-a-thon event in New Jersey.
The campaign to finish the entire Shas in 24 hours was being held by the Tiferet Eliezer community of Boro Park, Brooklyn, under the leadership of Rabbi Avraham Yehuda Lev. They gathered hundreds of Jews to learn for 24 hours, with the goal of completing together the entire Shas in one day.
The large hall in the Hilton Hotel in New Jersey was filled with many hundreds of Jewish people and Chasidim of many types, who spent many hours studying the Gemara.
Among the many who were studying was Farkash, a resident of Monsey, NY and founder of Chabad of Olympia.
“I came for my partner Rabbi Baruch Rosinger, and especially for one of my clients, Yossi Itzkowitz, the owner of the Toys 4 U chain of stores who is a community leader and baal chesed in Satmar,” Farkash told COLlive.
“However, the main reason that I participated was to make a kiddush Lubavitch, and to show that Chabad Chasidim can also participate and join the learning of Shas with a tremendous ‘geshmak’ in learning.”
Wonderful to see achdus to bring Moshiach now
Now we have to get Satmar to learn Chasidus
they probably learn more chassidus than we do, since we waste our time on the internet
Now that chabad learns Shas , Satmar can learn chasidus. Chabad doesn’t learn Shas our Rebbe taught us to master Shas!!!!!
I have great news for you. Believe it or not their is many many people in Williamsburg BP etc, Satmar chasidim who are seriously learning Chasidus. It’s growing by the day. Many many people started joining..
