"willingly"?

Many soldiers did NOT go willingly. Many, many were drafted. A very sad time in history. It does not take away from their sacrifice, and we owe them our thanks, but I don’t think it’s a “touching” thing. The place is one big blood bath caused by leaders and their followers who chose war as a way of means.
