At first glance, The Space doesn’t look like an organization. It looks like someone’s living room. Soft rugs stretch across the floor. Couches invite girls to sink in and stay awhile. Tables fill with notebooks and homework after school. Natural light pours through the windows.
In one corner sits a piano. In another, a guitar. Nearby, an art station cluttered with paint, markers, and half-finished masterpieces. There’s a snack bar that never seems to run out of something salty and crunchy. There’s a coffee station that’s constantly refilled.
Girls wander in after school, dropping their backpacks and settling in like they’ve just come home. And in a way, they have. Over 200 different faces come through the doors of The Space each week.
Some come to study. Some come for dinner and late-night discussions. Others come for art classes, baking competitions, dance sessions, Pilates, music, or whatever exciting activity the week’s schedule brings. The programming rotates constantly—new workshops, new ideas, new experiences—keeping the energy fresh.
And everywhere you look are counselors and staff who are more than supervisors. They’re mentors. Role models. The kind of adults who remember exactly what it felt like to be sixteen.
Can you help the Space turn up the volume?
Right now, hundreds of girls have a place to go after school. A place to talk, laugh, belong. But spaces like this don’t run on good intentions alone. They run on community support. They run on people who believe that teenage girls deserve somewhere warm, safe, and inspiring to grow.
This Thursday, you can help the laughter get louder, help the friendships grow stronger, and help hundreds more girls walk through those doors and feel that powerful sense of belonging.
Make a donation and keep the music playing.
