I knew a non-Jewish dentist in Russia who often volunteered his time to treat the poor for free, including the Jewish community.
In May 1905, the very same dentist led a mob against local Jews during a pogrom.
Later, when quiet returned to the city, he continued providing free dentistry for all.
To those who asked him, he would say, “The sicknesses of the Jews, I do not hate.”
