I once heard from SB Goldstein that L. Groner called him to fix something in The Rebbe’s room. He told me that The Rebbe was busy at his desk when he came and went. YG

CH. B. Halberstam told me once that there is a B&W picture of the Rebbe (hanging) in his house (a famous one taken by Trainer studio many years ago – standing by the Stender and clapping). Maybe the technitian did not notice it.

“the original” phrase was said by the Rebbe at dollars. The person said he visited kfar chabad (i think) and it was beautiful and there was a huge picture of the Rebbe there. To which the Rebbe responded “now you can see the original” (or something to that affect).

since was there air conditioners in the rebbes house before 5748??? we all know they were installed during shiva. there was no a/c while the rebbitzin was there

One year at kinus hashluchos there was a program by the high school girls of New Haven. They gave out a booklet with a different picture of the Rebbetzin. She was much older in that picture. But very accurate.
Why do people take the wrong message from a beautiful story. Very simple, since the Rebbe lived in the house it wasn’t necessary to hang a picture,so if the Rebbe lives in your house or in your Bais Hakneses and you behave as if he is actually there then I guess there is no need for the picture. The Rebetzin in her aidelkeit did not want to reveal in whose house the mechanic was so she answered in that way not to make him uncomfortable. That’s all. Learn pshat not drush.
Are there any other pictures of the Rebbetzin available other than the famous one?
To which the Rebbetzin replied, still not revealing her identity, “by us the photo can also be in the heart.”
Maybe a good idea not to have the Rebbe’s picture inside the place of tefilah?
