Weekly Rebbe Photo

The Avner Institute presents a weekly first time released photo of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. This one was taken in the winter of 1963 during prayer in the small zal (synagogue) in 770 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, NY. The Rebbe's Chief of Staff Rabbi Mordechai Hodakov is seen on the right. Thanks to the Rebbe Archive and Rabbi Yossi Solomon.

The Rebbe enters for Mincha or Maariv in the “small Zal”. Rabbi Chadakov then closes the door, while the Rebbe holds his gartel in hand, in order to don it.
