5 years ago on the 8th day of Chanukah, we received the miraculous news:
Sholom Rubashkin was released from prison!
This was one of those historical moments where everyone remembers exactly what they were doing, when the news broke.
The celebration that ensued was nothing short of inspiring, with crowds of Jews from all sects and backgrounds taking to the streets in joyous dancing. Indeed, the feeling of “Redemption” was palpable, and in a way, it was our collective redemption.
Since his release, Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin has become something of a celebrity, with so many relating to his steadfast belief in the fact that even in apparent “captivity”, one has the ability to REALIZE their redemption in a true and meaningful way.
Recognizing the enormous need, devoted friends and supporters set out to create the “Aleph Beis Gimmel Center” to perpetuate this message of hope and belief. Aleph Beis Gimmel is a Hebrew acronym for “Emunah (Belief) and Bitachon (Faith) can bring about your Geulah (Redemption)”
They asked Reb Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin to devote himself to teaching and inspiring others there. Seeing tremendous success in helping so many individuals REALIZE their own personal redemption, or “Geulah”, R’ Sholom Mordechai threw himself into the work heart and soul, dedicating his life to this holy work.
Since its inception, the Aleph Beis Gimmel Center has been a safe and welcoming haven for so many, from School Shabbatons to weekly classes, and one on one sessions with many demographics, and all ages.
Today, the dedicated team at the Aleph Beis Gimmel Center is setting its eyes on the future, with hopes of securing the adjacent home and growing their impact even further!
“There is so much we can do to help so many of our generation redeem themselves from whatever physical or spiritual rut they find themselves in” Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin stated. “In the darkest of times, with immense faith and belief in the Almighty, I was able to find my Geulah, and so can you”
The future home of the Aleph Beis Gimmel Center will boast 16 bedrooms, conference space and classrooms, one on one Counseling rooms, a library, as well as vast outdoor space for Kumzitz and other youth gatherings.
In today’s world, the ability to see the hand of God in our daily lives is an arduous task, and more so in our struggles.
With a little faith in the Almighty, and His grand plan for everything, the world would truly be a better place for all of us!
