Every Jew in the Belgrano community knows they can rely on Rabbi Abraham Levy and his son, Rabbi Mendel Levi for soul-soothing words of Torah, the feeling of connecting with their fellow Jews, and the delicious taste of kosher food.
Beit Levi Yitzjak Community in the Belgrano neighborhood of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires serves hundreds of Jewish families. Of the 50,000 Jews in the area, many would be unaware of their beautiful heritage if not for the efforts of Chabad.
“This is my place, definitely, this is where I want to be. It’s more than just a shul, it’s a community,” says one member of the community.
From dawn until dusk, Rabbi Abraham Levy and Rabbi Mendel Levi lead their beloved community. Weekly, the shul is packed with people attending shiurim, tefillot, and the kolel. On shabbat, even more attend the kiddushim. Each person who walks into the shul feels their heart warmed by the words of Torah – and they come back for more. Chabad brings Jewish families together.
And there’s more. Chabad arranges groups for children, youth, adults, seniors. Tirelessly, they prepare youth for bar and bat mitzvahs, and young men with groom preparation. The heart of Judaism in Belgrano is Beit Chabad Levi Yitzjak.
But as the community grows, they need a larger space. Now, they are seeking to build a larger Beit Hakneset for their growing community, and are in desperate need of funds to help sustain and increase the activities of the Beit Chabad.
