An uplifting Shabbos was sent at the Rebbe‘s Ohel in the Old Montefiore Cemetery in Cambria Heights, Queens, New York.
Gathered there in honor of the Rebbe’s yartzeit on Gimmel Tammuz were Chassidim, bochurim and Jews from around the world.
Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch Center, directed by Rabbi Aba Refson, coordinated the large-scale accommodations that included davening at the tents near the Ohel, and mass tents for Shabbos meals and sleeping.
While some of the younger bochurim were already in overnight summer camps, a large crowd was seen engrossed in davening and group and individual learning of Ve’ata Tetzaveh, sichos and Chassidus in general.
Some of the participants were there as part of their community trip to the Ohel, or have joined their local Chabad Shliach in experiencing a simple yet inspiring Shabbos with fellow Chassidim.
Senior mashpiim and Shluchim spent time leading farbrengens with Yeshiva bochurim who still didn’t begin their summer break, encouraging them to strengthen their connection with the Rebbe and ultimately, prepare the world for the coming of Moshiach.
