Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has already made her impact in American politics as John McCain‘s running mate to the White House. Now she’s affecting the fashion arena as well.
Georgie Wigs has uncovered a brand new “sheitel” – wig in Yiddish, named “Sarah P – Human Hair with Skin Top.”
Inspired by the Republican nominee for the Vice President, the wig is expected to become a hit as the frameless glasses Palin is known for.
But in a conversation with COL, Lubavitch sheitel-macher Chanie Schlanger says Palin’s hairdo will be a no no in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
“Palin’s very conservative looking, a classy type of role model, and the style would definitely go well with Borough Park,” Schlanger of ST Wigs in Crown Heights and owner of Sheitel.com said.
On the other hand, she says, “Crown Heights women prefer the long layered look rather than a sleek updo.”
The hockey mom wig is on sale for $695 at Georgie Wigs
Very nice aidel and conservative looking sheitel. BTW, I just voted for her via absentee ballot from Eretz Yisroel.

Smart ad.
yes its true we should not generalise however the way our community is accepting the dresscode which is getting worse daily we are all going to be seen as one which is a very modern dressed community
The Shitelmacher is not in the business of commenting on hashkafa as she is not giving her political views by selling a Sara P wig. She is merely talking fashion which is her proffesion. Chani can I get a hillary style on your sheitel.com?
I think it is a very nice and aidel sheitel and what the sheitel macher wrote trully saddened me. The Rebbe always said we should learn from the tznius of others. Plus one should never generalize a community- there are many girls who would much rather wear this sheitel then the prust “long messy wigs”
I love the name of the sheitel.
As for the style: its a matter of taste. It’s a bit old fashion, but hey- if it looks good on you so what.
Besides i dont know anyone who heard of this style name. You dont go and buy a sheitel everyday or even every year.
So if your in the market for a wig now- try sara p. It might help for the elections!!!!!!!!
The mentioned sheitel-macher is known for her young and trendy styling and clientele. I don’t think it is a sheitel-stylist’s authority to generalize about an entire community.
we jewish hockey moms are so excited about this shaitel..even though its senile..we think it would be a hit in ch!! just because i saw like 3 people wearing it today..!!!
I totally agree, just look around the neighborhood and see what everyone looks like – you will see a lot of long messy wigs, not really classy at all.
I think its nice, would totally wear it!
Mrs. Schlanger, I find this very pretty and will certainly consider it!
