The Viznitzer Rebbe, R’ Yisroel Hager visited Rabbi Dovid Moshe Lieberman, the long-time senior Chief Rabbi of Antwerp, Belgium, at his home in Antwerp on Monday.
Rabbi Lieberman was greeted with reverence, having survived the Holocaust and dedicated his life to lead the Shomrei Hadas community Antwerp and renowned as a halachic authority.
Sitting alongside him was his son Rabbi Mendel Lieberman, Head Shliach of Chabad in Ashkelon, Israel, who has succeeded in building a sizable community and built many educational and outreach institutions.
During the meeting, the Viznitzer Rebbe recalled a Chabad nigun that his grandfather, the Imrei Chaim, has adopted after visiting with the fifth Chabad Rebbe Rashab.
Soon, participants in the meeting join in heartfelt song together.
