As we reported earlier, 250 Chassidim from across the world were permitted to enter Kazakhstan for one day only, in order to enter the Holy Tzion of Reb Levi Yitzchak Schneerson OBM in Alma Ata.
This was accomplished through the hard work and dedication of R’ Dovid Rogatsky of Crown Heights, who worked tirelessly requesting special permission from the Government of Kazakhstan to ensure that the annual trip was not canceled even during coronavirus restrictions.
In coordination with the local authorities, tons of kosher food and humanitarian and medical equipment will be allowed in to assist the hospitals and aid organizations for the benefit of the country’s residents.
Alongside the arrival of the two special planes, allowed to bring 250 Chassidim from across the world to Kazakhstan to pray by the Tzion of the Baal HaHillula on Monday Chof Menachem Av, a few moments of ‘Kiddush Hashem’ will also be noted when the planes land in Alma Ata.
The shutdown of air travel during the Corona era has led many countries to face shortages of both food and equipment.
The delegations arriving from the United States and Ukraine have also taken care of that. Many tons of medical and humanitarian equipment, basic food necessities for the country’s citizens of all religions, and thousands of kilograms of kosher food for the Jews of Kazakhstan, were loaded into the plane’s cargo holds.
On Monday, an official ceremony will take place with the participation of government representatives, in which they will express their appreciation to the philanthropists R’ Avi Shaulson and his family from Miami and R’ Shmuel Stern and his family from New York for caring and thinking about the country’s residents.
