A Jewish man visiting New York from Israel was assaulted Sunday, September 10th in Crown Heights.
The incident occurred on President Street and Albany Avenue at approximately 2:45 PM. The victim was walking on President Street when he was approached and viciously attacked by an assailant.
As the victim tried to get away from his attacker, described as a black male in his thirties, the suspect began chasing after him and continued his assault while proceeding to shove him to the ground.
Shmira and the police were called, who soon arrived on the scene and apprehended the attacker.
The victim, who is unable to speak in English, was assisted by Shmira with Hebrew translation and the proper filing of a police report at the police station.
In case of any emergency, call Shmira at 718-221-0303 and 911.
I too live in Crown Heights but don’t seem to have your repulsive attitude. So, why not save yourself the agony and leave until Shabbos Breishis. Crown Heights might just manage without you for the month. And, last but not least, speak for yourself and don’t say we, because “we” don’t all have your most undesirable attitude.

And to everyone else: please remember that the Orchim are the Rebbe’s guests. The first condition the Rebbe (someone remind me which Rebbe) made before moving to the town of Lubavitch was that the local Yidden would be willing to accept all the guests who would stream in to spend time by the Rebbe, That would include the great increase in noise, the need for food and lodging, and the quantity of garbage. The local Jews replied yes, they wanted the Rebbe in their city and they would accept the guests. So I say, Welcome Orchim!! Thank you in advance… Read more »
And our girls….!
we have to teach our boys self-defense in the yeshivas
You’re complaining about Tishrei? As if the yom Tovim are at fault here?? What about the poor guy who did nothing wrong?
Either get on board and help set up decent facilities or state your case to the people in charge – if there are any
This will be my first yom tov in crown heights and now it sounds like I should be afraid to walk in the street during the day in the heart of the shchuna??
such a nice guy.
yes, not all is perfect
but neither is it when its not Tishrei
and the guests also bring a beautiful atmosphere in so many ways
and yes, some of them need to “behave” themselves more
but so do we all
May Moshiach just come already please and bring true peace for us all
I think every time a criminal is being described he’s being describing as a black man in his mid 30s
