NY Daily News reports:
Four people were stabbed and one person was shot along the New York Caribbean Carnival Parade route — a bloody sideshow of mayhem at the annual Brooklyn event.
The injuries to two victims in separate incidents were not life-threatening, according to fire officials. The conditions of the other two stabbing victims were not immediately known.
The shooting happened at 4:47 p.m. between New York and Brooklyn Aves. in Crown Heights. All four stabbings happened around the Brooklyn Museum, close to where the parade ends.
People screamed and crowds knocked over barriers to get away from the bedlam. Several young men sprinted through the crowd and police followed.
An emcee barked from a nearby float, “Every time we do this your foolishness ruins the carnival!”
