During the gathering, the Rebbe’s secretary, Rabbi Leibel Groner, approached the microphone and relayed a message from the Rebbe. He announced that the Rebbe said: “S’vet zayn a refuah bekorov berov shirah vezimrah” — that there will soon be a recovery accompanied by abundant song and music.
The announcement electrified the crowd. Immediately, the assembled Chassidim broke out into spirited dancing that continued for hours.
