Members of the Community Center Beth Halevi Chabad in Vienna, Austria, spend this past Shabbos in New York in a trip that was billed as a preparation for the holiday of Shavuos.
Flying in for Shabbos Mevarchim Sivan, the group’s visit began with a chassidic farbrengen at the Rebbe‘s Ohel in Queens, NY.
The trip was organized and accompanied by Austria’s Head Shliach Rabbi Jacob Biderman, and fellow Shluchim Rabbi Israel Netanelov, Rabbi Pinchas Gadilov, Rabbi Yakov Uston and Rabbi Dov Gruzman.
On Friday, the group traveled to the Crown Heights neighborhood where they visited the Rebbe’s room at 770 Eastern Parkway and davened Mincha in the Rebbe’s house on President Street.
They returned to the Ohel for Shabbos and spent it with davening, meals and farbrengens. Addressing them was Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, who was marking his 70th birthday.
On Motzoei Shabbos they enjoyed a festive Melave Malka at the Bukharian Jewish Community Center in Queens. Beth Halevi is an affiliate of the Congress of Bukharian Jews.
