My Judaism, a new platform for spreading Chabad chassidus, is getting chassidus even into the heads and hearts of people who may not even be interested in hearing about Torah.
The popularity of video today is no secret, and using cutting-edge video production technology combined with social media, My Judaism is making fundamental concepts in chassidus resonant and relevant even to the least interested of Jews, taking chassidus where it has not previously been able to reach.
My Judaism in partnership with Rabbi Yisroel Glick, who is known for his clarity and command of language, and his ability to use both to make the deepest concepts in chassidus crystal clear and relevant, has launched two separate channels for not only making chassidus accessible, but putting it in front of people where it will actually be seen en-masse. The channels allow chassidus to be presented both in a form that is appealing to people who are uninterested in Torah Judaism, and separately to cater for people who are interested in Torah Judaism and have some level of involvement, without losing the interest of the unaffiliated.
Within just a few months of launching their channels from scratch, they have achieved more than a quarter of a million views of short hard-hitting videos that make authentic true-to-text chassidus interesting and engaging for the modern lay person even if they may be completely uninterested in Judaism.
In honor of Yud Shvat they have produced two videos teaching fundamental concepts from the Frierdiker Rebbe’s maamer Bossi l’Gani [5710].
The first video on the Rabbi Yisroel Glick channel (facebook.com/rabbiyisroelglick) summarized the concept of shtus d’kedsha from the fifth paragraph of the maamer in just two minutes so that even a modern attention span can get the idea.
The second video on the My Judaism page (facebook.com/MyJudaism) summarizes the second paragraph that addresses relevance of sacrifices in the Beis Hamikdos to modern Jewish life, in under two minutes, presented so that even those who do not want to hear from Torah Judaism will be interested.
The more than a quarter of a million views that they have achieved in their first months have been running at a low level with part-time staff, and in coming weeks they will be launching the operation officially with full-time staff, with a commitment to achieve a minimum of a million views within the first twelve months.
To support their work taking chassidus global at scale, spreading the maayonos of chassidus chutza which the Rebbe pushed so strongly as our role in bringing Moshiach, tax-deductible contributions can be made at https://www.myjudaism.co/contribute
