Many hundreds of chassidim, including many who traveled from countries worldwide and from across the US to be with the Rebbe for the 90th anniversary, participated in this farbrengen, a few yards from the Rebbe himself.
In addition to watching a talk of the Rebbe from the 50th anniversary, the large crowd was addressed by 4 chassidim who were physically present at the celebrations of Yud-Daled Kislev with the Rebbe throughout the years.
Speakers included the Rebbe’s secretary and chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky and Rabbi Sholom Duchman, Director of Colel Chabad.
Rabbi Yossi Kessler of Montreal, Canada explained the lesson of Yud-Daled Kislev, that even if it may be concealed by negative actions, every single Jew is connected to the Rebbe, and we must take care that every Jew makes his way to the Rebbe’s Ohel to bring that soul connection to revelation.
Rabbi Leibel Korf of Los Feliz, California urged the assembled to increase in learning and good deeds as a gift to the Rebbe, and, as the Rebbe urged regarding the Frierdike Rebbe’s wedding anniversary, to continue the celebrations for rest of the Sheva Brochos.
These words were followed by joyous dancing and warm chassidishe farbrengens throughout the night, giving thanks to Hashem for granting us the privilege to live in Dor Hashvi’i and be connected to the Rebbe.
In a recently published note written by the Rebbe following the 50th anniversary, the Rebbe expressed his holy wish that the celebration should be accompanied with dancing, as befitting a wedding celebration.
Shluchim in cities around the world participated in this farbrengen via live webcast on Chabad.org and COLlive.com. Public viewings were held as well, in Anash communities.
