Congregants of 2 shuls in Ramat Gan, a city in west-central Israel, were shocked to discover chometz intentionally dumped by their front door on the holiday of Pesach.
A loaf of bread was stuffed in the handle of the front door of one of them, while bread crumbs were scattered around the entrance of another.
Mayor of Ramat Gan Carmel Shama HaCohen condemned the vandalism and personally visited the shuls on Chol Hamoed, calling for the police to investigate the incident.
“At the end of the holiday, I was informed that a few hours after we all united around the Seder table thanks to a 3,000-year-old Jewish tradition, this bullying hate crime was committed,” he stated.
“The prohibition of chometz is part of Jewish tradition that is kept by Jews like me – traditionalists who don’t keep the 613 mitzvos, but I have no doubt that even the most secular residents of this city seen this action as a sick act,” he said.

I hope this should be the worst problem in Eretz Yisroel !
You got to give some credit to these vandals, they didn’t destroy anything, they are harassing with a tinge of jest, you gotta appreciate it.
Just a stupid prank. Actually kind of funny
It’s a just loaf of bread
Not an aveira for you to see someone else’s chametz. Basic Halacha
Why is this news
this is the worst problem imaginable. it shows the pure hatefulness that the liberal secular Jews have
With the kaftans, they are so frum they throw rocks on frei yidden… Now the frei put chometz outside their shul and they want to cry about hate crimes? Please. They deserve whatever they get, let them learn how to treat other yidden with respect and love line the Torah says.
That throw rocks at people driving vehicles to annoy them
you know for a fact that the people from these shuls are the same ones who throw rocks, right? Or is your post an example of the kind of prejudice that’s acceptable – that all chareidim look alike? Then think if you would say such a thing about blacks or Hispanics or whatever.
והקב”ה “מצה”לנו מידם
We enact a “three state” solution. One state for secular israelis; one for the palestinians; and one for the ultra orthodox israelis.
The Mayor is wrong when he says he doesn’t keep the 613 Mitzvos. He already admitted that he wouldn’t eat Chometz on Pesach, and the I’m sure he had a Bris, and he is proud to keep his name showing he is a Kohen. And I’m sure there are many other Mitzvos that he keeps. You area proud jew.
