Shiurim? check. Farbrengens? check. Sleeping arrangements? check. Meals? check as well.
Vaad Hatmimim, the organization caring for the spirituality of Chabad bochurim worldwide, is expanding its operations during the Tishrei month to feed as many as 400 bochurim.
As has been the custom for many years, bochurim fly in to New York to spend Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Sukkos and Simchas Torah “with the Rebbe” at 770 Eastern Parkway and at the Rebbe’s Ohel.
Providing them with full programming, the Vaad will once again offer an array of shiurim, farbrengens and workshops presented by some of the leading Chabad rabbis, Roshei Yeshiva, Mashpiim and Shluchim.
In recent years, hospitality was provided as well thanks to the generosity of businessmen Yossi Popack, Rabbi Dovid Fischer and Moshe Rubashkin.
“This year, the hanhalos of the yeshivos asked that in addition to the sedorim and the back and forth transportation to the Ohel, we should take of more of the physical arrangements,” said Rabbi Tzvi Altein, Director of the Vaad.
Meals will be served three times a day at 2 locations: The Hadar Hatorah kitchen hosted by Rabbi Shea Hecht of the NCFJE, and the Chovevei Torah kitchen by caterer Levi Feigenson.
Altein thanked the supporters of the Tishrei efforts – R’ Schneur Minsky, R’ Avrohom Lokshin, and R’ Chaim Yankel Lebovits, with additional donors soon to be announced.
Yeshivos that have been registered with Vaad Hatmimim include the ones in Elad, Beer Sheva, Beitar, Bnei Brak, Tveria, Kfar Chabad, Lod, Migdal Haemek (Gedola and Baalei Teshuva), Kiryat Gat (ketana and gedola), Nachlas Har Chabad, Rechovot and Toras Emes.
Other Yeshivos, like the Yeshiva Gedola in Tzfas, use the Hachnosas Orchim accommodations of the “Chabad World Center to Greet Moshiach,” directed by Mendy Hendel.
levi feigenson! keep up the fantastic work!
yossi and reuven!!!!
please remember to help our local families and bochurim not from E”Y
it cost thousands and thousands of dollars to feed these bochurim 3 meals a day for a whole month
anyone getting food should have to have an authorization card which should be earned by weekly behaviour and participation checks administered by some type respectible hanhala.
G-d bless everyone involved. From Rabbis Hecht to Altein and from Lokshin to Popack!
Go home and open the fridg
And don’t forget to make a broche
But not from crown heights. How will we be able to benefit from the programming?
Rabbi Shea does soo much and has his hands in soo many good things.
