Ambassador Thomas Nides began his tenure two and a half years ago with a visit and prayer at the Western Wall, where he lit candles during the official Chanukah candle-lighting ceremony. Now he concludes his role and arrives for a personal and national prayer at the Western Wall before his return to the U.S.
During his tenure as the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, he visited the Western Wall on dozens of occasions and participated in many events.
The ambassador saw the Western Wall as a significant place and a spiritual center for the Jewish people, and he cared deeply about its development.
Mr. Nides was not a good ambassador for Israel. Goodbye and good riddance.
Good riddance. He did so much damage to us here in Israel, he embodies the concept of a self-hating Jew. It’s a disgrace such a person went to the Kotel to make himself out to be proud of his Jewishness. Just another publicity stunt and photo op.
