Bh this missed, but unfortunately what will it take for community leaders and politicians to take this seriously.
Jews have been beaten, robbed and harassed for 3 years straight in crown heights with no repercussions.
Community leaders have to know when they’re not up to task.
Add another zero plus 10 or 20. This has been going on for many many years as the residents know. But it has gotten progressively worse since the police disappeared and the shelters were placed into our neighborhood.
Perhaps you become a community leader and we’ll see what you accomplish
it seems you don’t know what a politician is…
they will only do something that will benefit them or prevent something happening to them.
It does no matter if the politician is chabad, black,Hispanicits all for perosnal gain the good things might seem like they care but really think into it if they really cared wouldn’t crown heights be safe ? and people can walk without the though of something might happen to them
3 years?
More like 50.
Please approximately what time of night did this occur? Was it early evening or very late? No mention of specific time.
The best!!!!!! Dedicated to keeping the streets clean! May it be this year!
Approx 11:12 pm a shot was fired on kingston between Empire and lefferts. Crown Heights shomrim was responding to a call a block away and heard the shot. They were able to provide the police with footage showing a dispute between two African American men. While the incident is a scary one, Shomrim can confirm that no Jews were a target in this incident, and any organization or outlet reporting it as such is fear mongering and irresponsible.
A weapon is just as dangerous and it’s owner needs just as much to be rooted out of the neighborhood regardless of who it was ‘meant for’.
You’re right, a weapon and it’s owner can pose a danger to the neighborhood, regardless of who the target was, and that’s exactly what this article should have been about, how certain buildings in CH has been run over by criminals who live amongst us, too close for comfort, and create dangerous situations. That’s actually a true story which would have generated views on its own, without the fake click bait.
Why won’t the community leaders back security for the community? Obviously the city won’t pay for it, but the community leaders can help make an annual fundraiser for it. We fundraise for everything but the one thing that will keep us alive and safe. Just take a minute to think about that.
It’s pathetic we put up with this! I hope everyone who feels affected by this signed up to community board 9! We need shomrim to replace some of our so called leaders here maybe since they seem to care more and do more about our safety!
Shame on local Jewish landlord renting to these literal criminals! That whole block is dangerous and in the heart of CH! Perhaps offer the section 8 apartments to yidden who have the vouchers, how are we less deserving than criminals and from a frum landlord who should understand and no the less places our community in danger with these hoodlums in our midst
And people think they can get away with charging $3000 for a studio here??? Please!
Election have big consequences, vote for the Right leaders.
We have no power because we cannot elect municipal, local govt candidates (councilmen) who would work for safety and the good of the neighborhood. I’m guessing the zoning, or other factors.. have been arranged so that we will never have a majority vote even in the heart of Jewish crown heights. The only mistake our community leaders are making is that they keep going to the same local ‘representatives’ for help when years have shown that they are not the answer either because they are the problem or because they have no power. We need to both go high above… Read more »
Resurrect Rabbi Kahane’s Jewish Defense Ligue. Paying other than Jews to protect Jews never works.
Stop voting demo(n)crats into office. Mayor Eric Adams just last night declared NYC doomed with the invasion of 10k illegals/mo. That’s quite a different tune from a year ago when he was celebrating NYC as a ‘sanctuary city’ and welcoming illegals to come showering them with literally free everything. Voting, or the lack there of, has real consequences. Every NYC election reports “record low turnout” so your not voting also has real consequences. I wonder how many CH’rs know who their local state Senator is… his name is Zellnor Myrie. He pushed and celebrated the passage of bail reform in… Read more »
What time of the day was the shooting?
There are plenty of cameras there, what has been done to apprehend the attempted murderer and let the world know that he has been locked in a cage? What has been done to PUBLICIZE exactly what has been going on in Crown Heights?
Nothing. As usual.
Please don’t wait for the first korban c”v.
CH,is,a,dangerous, neighborhood
the,answer is,move,out
The more we move in, the less crime. Think about it
446 has cameras that would be helpful if the community patrol had access to them. The management is making it difficult for community patrol to have access to those cameras.
Let’s realize for a moment what could have happened but didn’t!
Although it seems that CH is a dangerous place, the bullet could have hit him but BH it didn’t!
That in itself comes to show us how Hashem is watching over the Rebbes shchuna!
…become a place where innocent people minding their own business become gang-crossfire victims!
Community council machers: this is inexcusable! Stop with the photo ops and putting in smiley-face time at unproductive meetings of cardboard facade committees and “task forces”: for shame!
If you don’t know what to do to take proper care of the community, call up your cohorts in Satmar and take their beginners’ course. If you don’t have the guts to follow their advice, do us all a favor and step aside: let more capable, courageous people take over.
KVChT, LSTUM, please Hashem!
Boruch Hashem he is safe! May HaKadosh Boruch Hu keep us safe!💞
