Upbeat Song Shares Secret to Feeling Serenity in Hardship

Female Jewish singer Moussia Mendelsohn has released a gorgeous new music video for her fast song “Carefree” for women and girls only, featuring a young girls choir.

Moussia Mendelsohn, a Chabad singer who has performed and inspired tens of thousands of women and girls worldwide and released beautiful soulful songs, has felt that the time is right to finally produce her very first upbeat song featuring the pure voices of a young girls choir.

“In a fast paced generation, where the world lies at our very own fingertips, we tend to expect things fairly quickly and therefore appreciate being in control of the ‘here and now’,” Moussia says. “Very often, however, we perfectly attempt to tackle a challenge at hand and put every detail into place, we find the matter unaccomplished or an unexpected change occurs. An instant ‘fear of the unknown’ kicks in, leaving us with whirling endless thoughts, causing our heartbeat to speed up in apprehension. Everyone sings about the importance of being happy, but with the matter still unresolved after having done all we could and having made a complete ‘keily’ (vessel to draw down the blessings), how are we supposed to be happy?”

This is where Moussia’s song ‘Carefree’ comes in; the song title literally translates as “free of troubles and worries. “What is the secret equation of getting to that feeling of complete serenity while surrounded by all the difficult challenges?”, Moussia continues. “From the Posuk in Tehillim: ‘השלך על ה׳ יהבך והוא יכלכלך- Cast your burden at Hashem and He will Provide.’ (פסוק נ״ה ~ Psalms Chapter 55). “Doncha lose, doncha break, let Him in, let Him take control-now breathe…CAREFREE!”
