It’s almost 20 years after Gimmel Tammuz, and unseen videos of the Rebbe continue to surface, Jewish Educational Media (JEM) reports.
Six weeks ago, an individual delivered to JEM’s Living Archive preservation project a pile of original silent 8mm films of the Rebbe, photographed in the 1970s.
The films, which were unseen by the general public until now, will be featured in Living Torah weekly video magazine during the coming months.
The first of the films appears in this week’s Living Torah. It shows the Rebbe davening as chazzan in the main shul at 770 Eastern Parkway on his father’s yarzeit, 20 Av 5735 (1975).
This particular clip includes beautiful details such as the Rebbe leaving his room wearing tallis and tefillin, holding his personal Torah scroll and bringing it to the bima, and more.
The films is accompanied by a commentary by Rabbi Yitzchak Tsap, Living Torah’s director, who points out interesting and historical notes.
JEM asked that those in possession of films, audio, or photographs of the Rebbe, to be in contact with their archivists to help preserve the materials and share them with the world. Email [email protected].
Bought me a Tehillim The rebbe davend in it & then brot it to MTL & it somehow dissappeared……………
we are reminded at the beautiful sights that we saw in 770
Thank you for sharing this video.
love the commentary.
Nice to hear a Lubavitcher’s voice in the background!
Thanks for sharing!
Retzoinanu Leroish Es Malkainu!
Beautiful!!! Thank you SOO much jem
Notice the Rebbe uses a new Tehiim and leaves in on the shtender. Good chance it was a Tehilim put down by a Chosson for the Rebbe to use, and then use a a gift for the Kalla.
Very nice! Nice commentary by Yitzchok too!
If I can make a correction, I believe the Rebbe moves head in SIX directions at Shema, not (just) four.
Also interesting how the Rebbe returns in his own to his room with rabbi L Groner popping out to see….
Truly amazing and wonderful to see. Ty
