Yud Shvat is fast approaching, and at Yeshivas Beis Menachem Mendel (Tzeirei Hashluchim, Tzfas) the atmosphere is thick with anticipation. Chassidim all over the world are busily readying themselves, spiritually and mentally, for this great day, and the bochurim, high up in the mountains of Tzfas, are no exception. If anything, their preparations are even more intensive, and even more comprehensive.
The hanholoh of the yeshiva, led by Rabbi Zalman Kaplan have created an all-around program, encompassing each step of a bochur’s day, challenging him always, to push himself beyond what he has accomplished in the past, and to achieve excellence in every area. In davening, learning, seder, and more, any bochur following this program will experience tremendous growth.
The preparation really swings into high gear, with the shluchim joining in with a supplementary mivtzah, carefully crafted to build excitement and anticipation, through learning extra sichos and watching videos of the Rebbe. The bochurim dedicate their free time to be educated and inspired about the meaning of Yud Shvat, and the Rebbe’s global vision, which revolutionized the world on this day.
The culmination of this hachonoh will be on Yud Shvat itself, as over 20 bochurim, (two sponsored by the shluchim,) will make the journey to spend the Yud Shvat with the Rebbe, farbrenging in 770, and spending a Shabbos of intense inspiration at the Ohel, led by Rabbi Kaplan, who will be running a seder for those flying to NY.
It’s truly amazing to see the passion, energy, and enthusiasm which has been awoken by the joint efforts of the hanholoh and the shluchim. Working together, they have ensured that the bochurim of Yeshivas Beis Menachem Mendel (Tzeirei Hashluchim, Tzfas) will approach Yud Shvat this year with the appreciation and understanding that will allow them to gain immeasurably, so that when Yud Shvat is over, they will be ready to surpass themselves, striving ever farther, in fulfilment of the mission statement which was pronounced by the Rebbe: To love every Yid, Torah, and Hashem, and to bring Moshiach now!
