Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Chief Rabbi of Tzfas and a member of Israel’s Chief Rabbinate Council, will be the Guest Speaker at The International Rambam Celebration to take place in Brooklyn, New York.
The annual event features great rabbis, Torah scholars and Roshei Yeshiva who come to salute the daily commitment of learning 3 chapters of the Rambam’s Mishneh Torah, a practice instituted by the Rebbe.
Rabbi Eliyahu will be giving a personal inside perspective on the special relationship his father, the late Mekubal and former Sephardic Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu had with the Rebbe.

Rabbi Eliyahu’s appearance is awaited with great enthusiasm, said Rabbi Shmuel Butman, the Chairman of the celebration which was called by the Rebbe “The International Rambam Siyum.”
It will take place on the day of the conclusion of the learning of three chapters per day, Thursday, 8 Shevat (January 9, 2014) at Oholei Torah ballroom 667 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, at 8 PM.
There will be separate seating for men and women. Renowned singer Benny Friedman will appear in a grand recital of “Shiru Lashem Shir Chodosh.”
