A large crowd of Anash from Tzfas and bochurim from Yeshivas Tzeirei Hashluchim visited the gravesite of Rabbi Aryeh Leib Kaplan OBM, former Head Shliach to the city, founder of the yeshiva and Kiryat Chabad—in honor of his yartzeit on 16 Iyar.
This year marks 27 years since Rabbi Kaplan’s untimely passing. A visionary leader and devoted Chossid, he brought a spiritual transformation to the city of Tzfas. The shlichus he began—establishing and building Kiryat Chabad and founding Yeshivas Tzeirei Hashluchim—continues to grow under the leadership of his son and successor, Rabbi Chaim Kaplan.
In recent years, a successful Mesivta (junior yeshiva) for Hebrew-speaking students was established by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Zalman Kaplan. A new yeshiva gedolah is slated to open next year, further expanding the vibrant network of Chabad institutions in the city.

Rabbi Yisroel Jacobson brought in Rabbi Kaplan to teach Chassidus in the evening by Hadar HaTorah in 1973. He was brilliant and awesome.
