The funeral of Lord Rabbi Jonathan Sacks obm, former Chief Rabbi of Great Britain and noted Jewish philosopher, orator and author, took place on Sunday.
The funeral was held according to current UK Government COVID guidelines.
Among the emotional eulogies was one delivered by Rabbi Lionel Rosenfeld of the Western Marble Arch Synagogue, who spoke of Rabbi Sacks choosing the Niggun “Tzoma Lecha Nafshi” during an interview as the one song he would take with him to a desert island.
“I would like that to be my epitaph,” Rabbi Sacks said then.

The world has lost an incredible man. Although I didn’t know Rabbi Sacks personally, I loved listening to him, and will continue. May his family be consoled.
I had the privilege to spend time with Rabbi Sacks in Italy at a pesach program by my brother Yitzchok Minkowitz
Rabbi Sacks was a superb human being first and foremost and an incredible speaker. He had a tremendous impact on anyone who met him.
May his family be consoled

I doubt Rabbi Lord Sacks ZatZal would have achieved the greatness he did without an ongoing, deep connection to the Rebbe. No-one can match up to his “Ambassadorship” of the Jewish people.
